Battery Directive

Battery directive

In connection with the sale of batteries or the supply of devices that contain batteries, we are obliged to inform you of the following in accordance with the Battery Directive: batteries must not be disposed of with household refuse. As an end user you are obliged by law to return used batteries. You may return the batteries free of charge after use to the point of sale or its immediate proximity (for example, at communal collection points or retail establishments). You can also return batteries to us by post. Batteries that contain pollutants are marked with the symbol of a crossed out refuse bin. Next to the refuse bin symbol is the chemical description of the pollutant. Cd stands for cadmium, Pb for lead and Hg for mercury.

The refuse bin means:

Batteries must not be placed with household waste

The signs under the refuse bin stand for:

Pb: battery contains lead

Cd: battery contains cadmium
Hg: battery contains mercury
